What is plantar fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that affects the sole of the foot, specifically the band of connective tissue called the plantar fascia, which extends from the heel to the toes and supports the arch of the foot.
When the plantar fascia melts or becomes inflamed due to excessive strain or repetitive stress, plantar fasciitis occurs.
This condition is most common in adults, especially between the ages of 40 and 60, although it can affect people of all ages and approximately 20% of runners.It is most often seen in people who are physically active or who have jobs that require standing for long periods.
