Biomechanics Course

Without a doubt, biomechanics has been my work specialty for the last 13 years of my profession. It has been something that has motivated me to share experiences and knowledge in different consultations with colleagues, as well as the possibility of attending a number of courses related in one way or another to the subject of sport, running and biomechanics.

The main problem lies in the amount of information that exists and the difficulty in filtering this information and putting it into practice. In daily clinical practice, that is why I have always based my vision of biomechanics and podiatry in making the studies and analysis of my patients in the most clinically effective way, without losing sight of the information that a good medical history and a systematic muscle-articular examination transmits.

For this reason, these courses are eminently focused on those podiatrists who want to learn in a more individualized way, so that they can design the courses according to their knowledge and needs in their daily practice.

Duration

12 hours approx. In total (3-4 hours theory + approx. 8 hours of practice).

Schedules to be agreed upon between student and teacher.

Objectives

To know the clinical exploration techniques and instrumented techniques (pressure platform) to establish the diagnosis of pathologies associated with the study of the footprint, as well as the necessary tools for their treatment and/or prevention. Recall knowledge of physical examination. Learn to assess real patients in daily clinical practice. To value the importance of a good biomechanical study to establish a correct diagnosis and increase the possibilities of obtaining an effective treatment.

Methodology

About 3 or 4 hours of theoretical and audiovisual material with projector Practical exercises in biomechanics room with real patients (2-3 per day of practice, in total about 7-8 hours of practice) Professional platform Medical sensor of 2 meters Examination table.

    7. Analysis of different cases in the sagittal plane.

    8. Practice in calculating goniometric values with the student’s own computer.

    9. PRACTICES in biomechanics room.

Duration

12 hours approx. In total (3-4 hours theory + approx. 8 hours of practice).

Schedules to be agreed upon between student and teacher.

Objectives

Learning and/or recalling new knowledge in terms of running technique and its influence on injury pathology.

Add to our study of the footprint, the running values of our patient to establish a correct diagnosis and increase the chances of obtaining an effective treatment.

Most patients are injured more by poor running technique, muscle deficiencies, poor choice of shoe….. Features on the most suitable footwear and its influence on the race
